What is Rockville University?

Rockville University is Bruno Brothers North's very own Rock University. We take kids of age and like ability, place them into groups and teach them many different aspects of being in a band.

Rockville University, founded in 2009; gives students who want to play in a band, but aren't quite sure where to start, the opportunity to organize and perform in one. Our experienced instructors will guide students through the Do's and Dont's of playing with other musicians, create a network of players within a common age group, and offer the opportunity to make some cool new friends. Students will learn how to play a song together as one, prepare for practice sessions, and perform live on stage with their band.

Rockville Unveristy's goal is to complement the independent music lesson experience, offer a differentiator to our students, give them the foundation, the tools and the edge, so that they grow to become personally inspired with their instruments. Rockville University provides the practice stage along with the equipment for our students to learn on. Then, at the end of the semester we will hold an A+ concert, at a venue to be named later, where on a real stage, with professional sound and lighting, in front of a live audience, the Rockville University bands will perform.

To determine class placement, each student will take a placement exam and be assigned to the appropriate level of the program. The programs are designed to cater to students from a wide array of experience; from beginners to the more advanced musicans.

Pre Rock Band:

This course is desgined for students who have just begun playing their instrument. They will learn easier songs that will be fun and boost their confidence. Songs they learn they will perform at the end of the semester with their band. Pre-Rock Band provides students a basic knowledge of rock history, stage presence, and band etiquette.
Rock Band 101:

This course is designed for the intermidate students. The songs students will learn will be more difficult than those in Pre-Rock. Rock Band 101 students will also learn rock history, stage presence and band etiquette, but at a more advanced level!
Honors Rock Band:

This course is for the more advanced students. Students will perform songs that are considered difficult. Stage presence will also be much more stressed in this course considering the students who have made it thus far have shown that they can play and perform. Much like Rock Band 101, the same concepts are stressed but again, at a more advanced level. Also, these students will be subjected to even more events and oppurtunies to strut their stuff!
